Avelon versatile experience and efficiency are based on the history of two logistics companies; John Nurminen Oy (est. 1886) and SkandiaTransport (est. 1925).
In the beginning of the millennium the Finnish company John Nurminen acquired the logistics companies Huolintakeskus and Atlans and the transport companies V M Tikkinen and Kuljetusliike L. Pihlapuro. After the acquisitions the vehicle logistics services were carried out by Nurminen Autologistics and Nurminen Autotrans.
In 2006 the Swedish vehicle logistics company SkandiaTransport was bought by John Nurminen and thereby the position as the leading player in the Baltic Sea region was strenghtened.
In 2007 the majority shares of John Nurminen's vehicle logistics companies were bought by CapMan and the new corporate company started operating independently as Skandia Autologistics, today Avelon Group Oy.
