The leading vehicle logistics player in the Baltic Sea region is now called Avelon Group Oy. Avelon offers vehicle import logistics services to vehicle manufacturers, importers and dealers in the Baltic countries, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Russia.
Avelon Group gathers vehicle logistics companies from four different countries as well as ten terminals under the same name: Hanko, Helsinki, Kotka and Turku in Finland, Paldiski in Estonia, Gothenburg, Halmstad, Malmö and Södertälje in Sweden, and Copenhagen in Denmark.
The name change takes place in phases. The new name will be adopted in Finland and in Estonia on 14 May 2008. The new names of the companies are:
The e-mail addresses of our Finnish and Estonian companies will change in connection with the name change to the format firstname.lastname@avelongroup.com. Our web address is www.avelongroup.com. Other contact information and the business IDs of our companies remain the same.
The companies in Sweden and Denmark will continue another year under their current names: AB SkandiaTransport and SkandiaTransport A/S. In 2009, SkandiaTransport will also become Avelon.
The companies under Avelon Group employ a total of about 530 experts in vehicle logistics. They make sure that each customer company of Avelon has access to extensive logistics services: pre-delivery inspections, car handling, equipment installation services, transit traffic to Russia, document services and transport services.
Last year the Group’s turnover came to more than EUR 103 million. Avelon Group aims to double its turnover by 2010. Avelon’s goal is to be the market leader of vehicle logistics and the most attractive provider of services in the Baltic Sea region.
Avelon continues its operations with solid experience
The most significant Group specialised in vehicle logistics in the Baltic Sea region was born in March 2007 when Skandia Autologistics Group was separated from John Nurminen. Investment company CapMan became the majority shareholder of the Group and John Nurminen Oy remained a minority shareholder. Although Avelon is a new name, both the Group's companies in Finland and SkandiaTransport have decades of experience in vehicle logistics.Now operations will continue as Avelon Group.
