Avelon Group has divested transport operations in Denmark
Avelon Group Oy has sold the Group’s Danish transportation operations to the Swedish vehicle logistics company, Scandinavian Motortransport AB. Avelon Group’s subsidiary, Skandiatransport A/S, will continue its other vehicle logistics operations in the Port of Copenhagen.
Avelon Group and Motortransport both consider the agreement to be mutually beneficial. Skandiatransport’s customers and other contracting parties support the arrangement.
“This divestment is in line with our aim to focus on our core markets. Due to heavily decreased volumes, our Danish transport operation did not reach the critical mass to operate efficiently. We foresee that consolidation in the market will support the sustainability and service level of vehicle logistics providers”, says Patrik Puskala, Managing Director of Avelon Group.
“Through this transaction, Motortransport will strengthen its position in the transport business in Denmark becoming even more important player in the Scandinavian vehicle logistics market”, comments Charlotte Arvidsson, CEO of Scandinavian Motortransport.
